Super cute place. Friendly owner. The morning croissants were great.

The owner was very accommodating. She asked us our preferences for breakfast and a convenient time-which many B&B’s do not not do. The breakfast was delicious! This location is ideal-walking distance from the downtown area where there is a wide choice of restaurants. This neighborhood is quaint, well kept and very friendly. Our bed was very comfortable, there is a little fridge in the room if you want to pick up a few snacks or drinks. We have stayed in many B&B’s over the past twenty years and we would definitely recommend this one to family and friends!! The owner is a lovely lady, with an artistic flare and very friendly.

What are you doing reading this review.. You should be in Santa Barbara right now loving life while staying at this adorable bed and breakfast! GO! The Secret Garden Inn and Cottages is a welcomed slice of the French countryside in laid back Santa Barbara. The property is comprised of darling cottages with private entrances built in the early 1900s and is surrounded by lush gardens. Dominique the owner truly cares about her guests. She accommodated my (annoying) gluten sensitivity and provided scrumptious gluten free options like gluten free toast, fruit, and quiche! My husband and I also preferred to clean up after ourselves, and the lovely staff kindly provided us with plenty of towels when needed and threw out our garbage for us. There are also enchanting paintings in the rooms, painted by you guessed it-the owner! Those add warmth to what is already a welcoming space. As a bonus this place happens to be a two minute walk to Mission Street Yogurt and Ice Cream which serves McConnells ice cream. Yum!!

The cottage was very very clean!! Very quaint and charming!!! The owner is very sweet!! I would recommend booking directly with her, the owner, bc Booking.com does not display the accurate info. For instance Booking.com website is supposed to give the option with or without breakfast. Also to notify the owner as to pets. She has non-pet rooms set aside for people with allergies, so she has to accommodate your situation. This lack of attention in the Booking.com website puts the owner in a bad position when she has to explain it to her customers. Definitely book with her directly!!! She’s awesome!!

Lovelly

First bed and breakfast for me. Book through them it will be cheaper, and she makes brownies every night! Place is a bit old but adds well to the touch. We had our water heater fail and they let us shower in a different unoccupied cottage. Also there might be termite droppings occasionally falling from the cealing depending on the room you stay. I would definitely go back regardless, maybe then rerate or give a 5.

I absolutely love the Secret Garden Inn. I have stayed here every October for the last 7 years. The owner, Dominique, is warm and makes you feel right at home. I've stayed in 2 other BB's in SB over the years and while they were very nice they don't compare to the Secret Garden.

Great little "pied a terre", very cosy feeling, comfortable beds, the staff is amazing, it's close enough to city center and beach while still being far enough to get a good night sleep. They really make you feel at home, fresh baked goods are available for guest along hot beverages during off hours, it great perfect!
