The homemade breakfast is made to order and French bistro in style. Prepared well by the staff lady who gets here at 7AM to cook for you by 8AM. We stayed two nights and ate in the garden both mornings. If you want to stay at a cozy place that feels like your Grandmas farm in the south of France, this is the place for you. Great for romantic getaways. If you are a business traveler and need flexibility with your schedule I would not book it, as they have a 7 day cancellation and they will not be flexible. The staff was always helpful and they have on site parking. A 4.5 not a 4 but they don't have that button
Really sweet bed and breakfast. Incredibly charming rooms and gardens. Feels so homey and welcoming not like a regular hotel experience. We loved the breakfasts Dominique made. Will be back soon!
Great hotel & location. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. Will definitely stay again.
We were 4 staying for 3 nights using 2 rooms. We didn’t like the stay: one of the room was in the main house. It could get quite loud. Also the bathroom has no countertop space. Quite inconvenient if you wear contact lens, need to use different products. The room only has 2 chairs. Quite uncomfortable to sit on. The other room is a stand alone cottage. It smells moldy. It has an AC for the window but it’s quite loud. All 3 day’s breakfasts are the same. I would like to pay less but go find different places for breakfasts everyday.
Absolutely lovely stay. Very comfortable and cute. Air conditioning worked well in the Whirlpool cottage. Clean and had daily housekeeping. We enjoyed our delicious breakfast in the garden. Friendly cat named Peanut (:
The Secret Garden Inn is a wonderful place to feel at home and enjoy waking up to a delicious quiche, cruisant, fresh fruit breakfast. Warm and very friendly staff. A cozy dog friendly space with hot tub. It is centerally located near great restaurants, the beach, Mission and Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens. - We look forward to our next stay....Very Soon! - Thank You - Harry B
Lovely experience and delicious breakfast! I wish we had the chance to speak with the owner directly, but she was very helpful on the phone. We'll be back!
Amazingly relaxing stay! My cottage had a private garden that I really enjoyed because my goal for the trip was just to relax and do nothing. My daughter and her boyfriend had one of the cottages with the hot tub that they used several times a day in between beach trips. The breakfast in your room was hot and yummy each day. Close enough to the beautiful beaches that we were able to come back mid day for a nap then back to the beach.
This is a calm and serene place to stay near the heart of Santa Barbara. The cottages are comfortable, charming, and cozy. Dominique, the innkeeper, is attentive and prepares a wonderful homemade breakfast. We enjoyed our one-night stay here and the hospitality that came with it. Hope to be back soon!
Absolutely delightful. The room was small and had character - just the way we like it! Very comfortable. It had a large bathroom, hairdryer, mini-fridge, coffee maker and television, our own private patio, and chairs in the garden! What more could we need? The perfect breakfast, of course! Oh, my, to sit in that lovely garden with a full breakfast was dreamy! Thank you so much for a lovely stay!
This bed and breakfast has a special place in my life. My wife and I visited it when we were in our 20s and we are now in our 50s. The charm, serenity, privacy, and feeling of escape has remained consistent. Now that we are older, we brought our son and his girlfriend, each of us staying in one of the small cottages (we stayed in the Wood Thrush, the same room we first began our memories in, and they stayed in the Hummingbird). We truly loved our stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. Dominique is a lovely hostess, from the care she puts into her establishment to the breakfasts she carefully prepares to the warm atmosphere she creates. We highly recommend you add it to your memories. A+
Look at the website. Most buildings in the SB area are older, this b&b is no exception to that, so know what you're walking into. The place is beautiful and quiet, exactly what we were looking for. The breakfast was huge, and the croissants are out of this world. Wife and I will 100% return and enjoy our alone time in the beautiful scenery this excellent b&b provides. Great, friendly service - can't wait for our next stay.
I cannot wait to book another stay here! I am local to the area but rented a room for my birthday weekend. The host was amazing, the room was charming and clean with a beautiful view. In the morning we received a delicious breakfast to our room which we enjoyed on the deck. Thank you for such a pleasant experience all around, I’m already thinking of future getaways to plan here.
Great location, very nice property, easy private and free parking, WONDERFUL breakfast included with room. Room furniture and cushions etc a bit dated but mattess is very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
Very nice experience to stay here. So nice French lady owns it, and she hosted us in a French style with a delicious huge breakfast with croissants and fruits and she was so nice that she remembered that I am vegan and made me absolutely fabulous vegan pesto polenta and French bread made of almond flour. I was in 7th heaven to find out! The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. We will always come back to this place if we come to Santa Barbara, and will keep recommending to our friends and family.
Loved it.
Convenient location near mission and 101. Charming property with outdoor space to relax in nice weather. Cozy, old fashioned room. Gracious hostess. Real breakfast. Comfortable bed. Nice amenities. This was my second stay and I have recommended to friends.
