The cottages are sweet and simple. They offer comfort and the amazing respite from cities and noise. My mother and I stayed for one night- getting pizza for dinner from a nearby restaurant that we shared on the garden table outside our room. Breakfast and coffee was brought to us at a prearranged time and we enjoyed just being relaxed without hassles. I will definitely be staying again!
We had the most amazing time at the Secret Garden! Such an intimate and homey stay. Check in was a breeze, breakfast was delicious, and even though we stayed in the main house, we felt like we had our own little oasis. If you stay here, I'd rent bikes (there are racks in the back) so you can easily get back and forth from main street. 10/10!!!
From the moment we arrived, first time stay, we were immediately impressed with the outdoor garden and the hospitality Dominique extended to us. Check in was very easy and personable as Dominique showed us around the property and room. Location was fabulous, easy walking distance to State Street and very quiet at night. We were in town for a concert which was unfortunately cancelled and a disappointment yet, that gave us more time to enjoy the property, which we did with our books in our laps in the garden area. Can't say enough good things about the breakfast and service. Will definitely be staying at the Secret Garden Inn again.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Meadowlark Room in the main house. Walking through the amazing and quiet garden was wonderful. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable, with charming furnishings and wonderful lavender soap!Everyone was very friendly, and it felt like we were staying with family. Dominique accommodated our early schedule with a delicious breakfast, and was very kind to allow us to leave our cars in the parking lot until after commencement. She and her family have done a wonderful job creating this quiet oasis in Santa Barbara.
A hidden gem of a B&B So let’s talk about hospitality: we travel extensively by car and prefer to stay in small individually owned properties as often as possible. We were in Santa Barbara for a family event and stayed with Dominique at her charming inn. Dominique and her staff (Cassidy and Letitia) go above and beyond to make their guests’ stays as comfortable as possible. Always charming and accessible, the Secret Garden Inn and Cottages was one of the best places we’ve stayed. It is abundantly clear that hospitality is at the top of their list! Breakfast is amazing: Dominique and staff went out of their way to make a delicious breakfast that catered to our individual dietary needs. The inn’s location is perfect. Dominique’s lunch recommendation was spot on and we could walk to Derf’s Cafe. We stayed in Wood Thrush, a charming cottage with a king bed. The cottage was well appointed and we had a hot tub on the enclosed front porch - perfect after a long day! We will definitely be back to stay at the Secret Garden when next we visit Santa Barbara!
Fabulous location, quiet lovely gardens and grounds, French breakfast. Like your own private home. My elderly mom slept through the night for the first time in years!
Beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Santa Barbara. Transported to a Parisan Inn as soon as I walked in the door. Very authentic 👌 and peaceful.
reat spot, wonderful, quiet environment and great breakfast. Great location and accommodating hostess.
We had a fabulous trip over memorial day weekend. The cottages are their own mini oasis. I wish there had still be a wine and cheese hour as they used to have pre-pandemic, but everything else was perfection.
Lovely B & B in a beautiful setting. The room was small but well appointed. The location was convenient as we could walk to diner at Bouchon. Breakfast was fabulous- coffee, tea, OJ, strawberries and bananas, croissants, raspberry preserves and a delish veggie quiche. Dominque was a wonderful hostess.
(Translated by Google) Everything is perfect, the place, the welcome, the rooms, and the breakfast!! (Original) Tout est parfait, le lieu, l'accueil, les chambres, et le petit dej!!
This place is a gem. Quirky, in a good way! Great service, rooms with everything you need and bags of character, great surroundings and very convenient location for restaurants etc. Oh and breakfast is lovely and served to your room. Highly recommended.
Gorgeous, cosy and comfortable B&B in a secluded garden setting. Our room was cosy and comfortable with a hot tub in our private yard. We had a real kettle in our room which I really appreciate. Our host, Dominique, provided a superb breakfast of croissants, scrambled eggs, muffins and fresh fruit. She was very helpful in showing us where the nearest launderette was and giving us lots of information. It was so nice there that we stayed an extra night ! WiFi was a bit hit and miss because we were in the cottage furthest from the main house.
Very comfortable room and lovely gardens. Friendly staff.
I wish I had discovered the Secret Garden Inn years ago! The French owner, greeted us, the room was charming, most charming places have no tv so my husband was happy, free parking in the back, breakfast was served in the dining room....coffee, homemade cake and croissants, a delicious egg vegetable tort, and fruit...could not be better...
We had a wonderful stay at Secret Garden Inn & Cottages. It is a peaceful, quiet setting of beautiful gardens in Santa Barbara. The cottage room we had was well appointed, with tea kettle, a small dining table, extra floor heater, extra blankets and bathroom amenities. Breakfast was delicious with homemade quiche, fruit, croissants tea/coffee and juice. We would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Santa Barbara close to downtown. Thank you Dominique for an amazing stay!
We love staying here every year! The breakfast is delicious and it’s super close to everything.
