(Translated by Google) Romantic rooms. Great breakfast in the garden. Very friendly hostess. (Original) Romantische Zimmer. Tolles Frühstück im Garten. Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin.
Wow! What a hidden jem. The owner cooks all breakfast in the morning fresh.
This place is amazing. The owner/operator is the kindest woman. The property is something out of a French novel...there are no other words to describe the setting but charming french cottage. Haven't been to many b&b but others i stay at will be benchmarked to this. The food she serves for breakfast is french too and sooooo good...the mainhouse is an older home she uses as the kitchen and dining making it feel like mom is cooking for you.
Quaint and clean, average breakfast but plenty of it, some fixtures are older and worn out, but that is part of the ambiance.
(Translated by Google) Very hospitable. You will be personally taken to your room and everything will be explained to you. Breakfast in the garden is simply magical. (Original) Sehr gastfreundlich. Man wird hier persönlich zum Zimmer gebracht und bekommt alles erklärt. Frühstück im Garten ist einfach zauberhaft.
Another guest described this place as "shabby chic". That may be a little harsh - this place is very pleasant. Dominique is a wonderful host and makes great breakfasts. The house and rooms are old, but they're very comfortable. It's very peaceful to sit in the garden and have breakfast. Join the hosts and other guests fir a glass of wine in the late afternoon and have a brownie on the evening.
Very nice bed and breakfast, we enjoyed our stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful and we really liked breakfast each morning. Our cottage was clean but a little old, we had problems with the bathtub. Also stuffy but the AC worked great. We did have a problem with parking, other guests didn't park effectively (there are no parking lines marked) and when we came back on Saturday night after dinner there was very little room for our car. People were parked which huge spaces between the next car which ate up a lot of room in the small lot. But other than that we had a nice stay.
Came here for a couple nights for a vacation. Was looking for just a quaint, cheaper place to stay instead of one of the crazy expensive hotels in the area. It's totally worth it. Great homemade breakfast in the morning. Very quiet during the day and night. My only couple complaints are that the parking lot lights stay on late, which shined in through our window at night. And the shower/tub didn't drain well. But all in all, we really enjoyed the place and we'd love to come back!
They said they are dog friendly but don't allow dog in the room while we are not in the room.
Stayed for a long weekend in Santa Barbara. Room was comfy, and breakfast was delicious. The accommodations were not modern, and this was more like being a guest in someone's home than a stay in a hotel. I found charming and refreshing, myself.
Awesome little place
Great location and service. Unique experience and very easy to find.
Such a nice inn
Very cozy and comfortable, nice and friendly host, great french breakfast in a beautiful garden.
(Translated by Google) Quaint cottage in central Santa Barbara. Run by a French woman in love with the region who knew how to give a romantic and authentic character, The French touch. Breakfast in the English garden is a must, not to be missed. And the boss's advice is precious. To discover urgently.
Beautiful room / cottage in a private garden. Great for sitting outdoors and enjoying breakfast. People who run the place couldn't be nicer. Definitely A+. I would go back.
What a delightful place to stay! Sweet little cottages in a charming laid back garden with old trees, woodpeckers, and a calico cat. We ate breakfast there this morning before driving home. Dominique served us delicious cheese and sausage omelets which we chose from among the four options she offered. We had excellent croissants and California prunes stewed in orange tea topped with a dollop of creme frais. THE COFFEE WAS GOOD. The previous morning she served us a wonderful house-made crustless Quiche. The hospitality never stopped: returning late at night, we found home made brownies on the table and hot cider and tea and wonderful little chocolates. We were invited to sample wines and cheeses each evening at five. All of this was complementary. We've never experienced such generous gracious hospitality in an American B&B. In Europe, yes. Our cottage was fine. It had everything we needed: a comfortable bed, privacy, good shower/bathroom, climate control, storage space, good light, internet access, TV, nice decor. This is not a "fussy/fancy" place. It's clean and simple and we felt really good there.

New Review 2019 May Secret Garden Inn & Cottages is one of the best places to heal your mind and body. We feel very lucky to have found the wonderful Inn and Cottages in Santa Barbara, which we have been visiting again and again. We stayed there in April and enjoyed every moment and have reservations in July and November. At the end of our recent stay in April we also made another reservation for next April. We started staying at Secret Garden since 2009 and we love this place and the innkeeper, Ms. Dominique Hannaux. I have been traveling to many countries for many years, and have many experiences with stays at many hotels and inns around the world. So I know which hotel or inn meets my standards and taste. Secret Garden Inn & Cottages is one of our most favorite inns in Santa Barbara. My husband says that Dominique has the mental and physical power to heal a tired person. I totally agree with his opinion. He looks so happy and alive when he is staying there. Dominique is a very warm-hearted and generous human being. We enjoy talking with her about art, culture, and any subjects. She is a very intelligent and artistic person. She prepares fresh breakfast every morning. It is so delicious that we can eat it every day. Each room has its own character and is decorated charmingly. As soon as we leave the Inn each time, we are always talking about our next visit. We cannot wait for our next stay at Secret Garden Inn & Cottages in July. ---------------- The most charming innkeeper of the most charming inn in Santa Barbara The first time when I visited Santa Barbara is more than 45 years ago. My friend who was the artist had a second house in the hillside in the Santa Barbara. She and her husband introduced me the beauty of the city of Santa Barbara. After that, I visited there many times with my friends and my family from Japan. Every body loves this town. When we married, honeymoon trip was Santa Barbara. Our adopted daughter attended UC Santa Barbara since 2009. After 2009, we visit this town regularly. I have been traveling many countries and visiting many cities. But the Santa Barbara is one of my favorite cities in America. The main reason why we like Santa Barbara so much is we found the most charming inn and stay there always. The owner of Secret Garden, Ms. Dominique Hannaux, is a very interesting French woman. She is the most friendly, generous, kind person whom I have ever met. She has very unique background. She was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and grew in Annecy, France, and worked in Paris. So she has many interesting stories to tell. She is very intelligent woman as well as artistic. She is very original and genuine. We enjoy talking with her very much. She is also the best cook. Every morning, she prepares the fresh cooked breakfast. Everything what she prepares is so good. There are many charming points with this inn. We always meet interesting guests from all of the world. We share the breakfast table and we can exchange the worldview with them. We feel like we are traveling around world. We have already made reservation for March 2018. Because, March is the month of my birthday. Now, her daughter is helping Dominique. We are hoping that this inn will last forever.
